Monday April 12

Today, i rode Sky out in the field and had our fist attempted jump outside. He did as good as he does in the indoor, so this summer i plan to put up a course outside. Then I schooled him on his transitions from walk to canter, he did great picking up the canter as soon as I asked. Then we took a nice walk through the fields and woods!

Leading Towards Cross-Country

This is the first time that sky and I have tried anything having to do with jumping outside!! He did so well that next time I am going to try jumping! He cantered the poles as if they weren't there. He paid close attention and did everything I asked of him!! It was alot of fun!

In the next pasture,Gracie, Barry's 17.2 hh Percheron, was our audience for the day!!!!

Preparing for Shows

My lesson went great! He jumped fabulous and listened to the slightest command. It was so hot out that after i had to sponge him down and handwalk him to cool him down! Last week he got (jumped!) out of his pasture and they found him eating grass in the front yard!
The bath worked wonders i havent even touched him with a brush here!

Its blury but a good jump!

Lesson

my lesson went great, we worked on jumping (obvi) and broken lines to fences. He jumped great, his trot was great and he stayed in his hunter frame while trotting, not once holding his head high. My sitting trot is now great because he puts me in a soft place to sit because of his frame.
