Sunday

I went to the stables today. It was way to hot to ride and since he did great on wed i gave him the day off. We went into the indoor and just had fun. he was great and really funny. Lookin to head down on mon or tues then wed for my lesson!!!

Tomorrow

Headin to the stables tomorrow.....planning on a dressage day with half passes, collected and extended canter and trot, our training level dressage test, and my sitting trot......also practicing his voice commands:) I will post pics of something or other tomorrow. Also have to go to Pittsburgh to get my show boots custom fitted for the show:-) Excited!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Have i mention lately how lucky i am to own a horse that is healthy, aims to please, and is soooooo fun to be around.........perfect!

Lesson

I had a lesson with Courtney today. It was sooooo hot but sky did great! We jumped for about half an hour. He is doing wonderful and Barry happened to be there and said.."man they look good" it was really funny. Courtney said she was proud of me many times for practicing what she told me to and for jumping a two foot oxer. Sky was literally dripping sweat though:(. She also asked me to take Sky to a show in august sooooo we will see!!! its august 13 and 14 and just a little show, jennifer.....you will have to come be my groom cause i dont know how to braid! But i might do a flat class and courtney will either jump him in the schooling ring or enter him in a small class! It will be interesting to see what he does.

A Hot Day

I went to the stables, but just groomed him and let him eat for a little. The indoor is hot, stuffy, and dusty this time of year. He was soooooo clean.

Sky's Box

I got this box from grandad and sanded it and then painted it! All of his stuff looks and fits good in it!!!!! I painted a jumper on the top, carrots and apples on the front and a horseshoe and HORSES on each side.

Back in the Groove

I had a lesson with courtney today!!!! I actually jumped sky the normal height which is about 2 feet......he did great. It was a lot of fun!! I have a lesson with her next week and then it is back to sandi:) Its been great having one on one with a trainer that still jumps and has jumped Sky herself, but Sandi is great too!! I like them both, and they both are very comfortable to be around for me and Sky.

Friday

Today, I went and just groomed Sky! he was great and didnt spook once. I took him in the indoor and walked him over poles and worked on stopping. He got to when i stopped he would stop just so his shoulder was beside me which is where he should be! I didn't have to use any force. I also let him graze for 10 minutes or so. Wed when i had my lesson i did some of it outside in the outdoor. There is this killdeer that freaks out when you go by and he eggs are like right there. I was going to ride outside today but i was afraid she might attack us!

Lesson!!

I had a lesson today and both Sandi and Courtney were there and Courtney is going to continue coming to my lessons for a while!! She is very nice, i luv her :)!! So, i jumped for the first time in 2 months, we both did great!! Sky was fabulous. It was very hot out though so he got a nice hose down after a hour and a half lesson! Courtney said that i have great equitation!! Instead of not spending any money on supplements, we are droppoing a hundred dollars every two or three months. Just started him on them today, we'll see how they work!! Wish i had a video or pics to post but.....i dont!

The past weeks

Well these past few weeks have not gone as planned.....:( Believe me i dont mind a horse that spooks a normal or loud things, but this is ridiculous. Sky is very spooky, but not spooky at birds flying or the wind flapping the sides of the indoor, he spooks at absolutley nothing! I am very sick of it. We went for a lesson today and he spooked 4 times really bad on the ground, so i made sandi ride him!:) haha he spooked 2 times while she rode him too. He also spooked so bad when we went into the barn that he let out a pretty high buck and nothing was there. We dont know what to do, its just not like him. We are added calming supplements to his daily food, and are hopeing that works. Courtney is riding him 3 times nect week and then twice a week every week after that. Sandi is going to ride him some too. As for me, i think i might be done riding him for a while. maybe looking to take lessons on a different horse. Giving him a month, not better, SOLD!
